Linguist with a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh (School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Science).
Broadly, my work examines how languages live, change, and persist in multilingual societies, with emphasis on language revitalization and the role of digital infrastructures.
PhD thesis: Reviving Bú‑gí: An Investigation of Language Policy and Language Management in Taiwan. The three studies address status planning (Taiwan’s shift from official monolingualism to multilingualism; concept of “Mandarin‑inclusive”), language management (macro–micro implementation), and corpus planning (digital ethnography and digital discourse analysis of writing standardization and tool support).
Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Urbana, Illinois, USA.
