About

I am an applied linguist, educator, and a wannabe artist.

My linguistics work examines how languages live, change, and persist in multilingual societies. I am particularly interested in the role that policy plays in processes of language management.

My PhD research, Reviving Bú‑gí: An Investigation of Language Policy and Language Management in Taiwan, included three studies that address the aspects of status planning, acquisition planning, and corpus planning of the local and indigenous languages of Taiwan.

Recent happenings

I recently completed my PhD at the University of Edinburgh and am currently based in Illinois, where I work as an educator in linguistically and culturally diverse K–12 settings.

I am actively seeking job opportunities...

I am open to postdoctoral research positions, lectureships, consultancy work with government or NGO language programmes. If you are working on something where my background in applied linguistics, language policy, or multilingual education might be useful, I would love to hear from you.
